  1. Why HSD Cables Are Difficult to Strip

  HSD (HighSpeed Data) cables are widely used in automotive camera systems, infotainment systems, ADAS, and highspeed data transmission. Their structure makes them significantly harder to process than standard power cables. The main difficulties include:

  1.1. Multilayer structure

  HSD cables typically include an outer jacket, shielding braid, foil shielding, twisted differential pairs, and fine inner conductors. Each layer requires precise cutting depth to avoid damaging the conductors.

  1.2. Fine and soft inner cores

  HSD inner conductors are extremely thin. If cutting depth is not accurate, the cores can be scratched or broken.

  1.3. High shielding density

  Braided shielding is tight and difficult to cut cleanly. Improper stripping can loosen the braid or deform the twisted pairs.

  1.4. Strict precision requirements

  Highspeed differential signals depend on controlled impedance.

  Any damage to the shield, twist pitch, or conductor will affect signal integrity.

  1.5. Inconsistent cable stiffness and diameters

  Different OEMs use different HSD cable designs, requiring flexible and adjustable stripping equipment.


  2. What Type of Stripping Machine is Required

  To handle HSD cables safely and consistently, the stripping machine must meet higher standards than normal wire processors:

  ① Computercontrolled precision stripping machine

  Adjustable stripping length

  Adjustable blade depth

  Multiprogram storage

  Suitable for multilayer cables

  ② Rotating blade / Vblade design

  Allows clean radial cutting of outer jacket and shielding

  Reduces the risk of cutting inner cores

  Supports multilayer stripping in one cycle

  ③ Stable clamping system

  Adjustable clamping force

  Prevents cable deformation

  Ensures the cable does not slip during stripping

  ④ Doubleend and midsection stripping functions (if required)

  Useful for processing shielded cables with complex structures.

  ⑤ Optional crimping integration for HSD terminals

  Strip + crimp

  Strip + twist

  Strip + shieldprocessing

  which greatly improves consistency and production speed.

  ⑥ Customizable tooling

  Since HSD designs vary by manufacturer, customized blades/fixtures may be necessary.
