A DC charging gun, also known as a DC fast charging connector, is one of the core components in electric vehicle (EV) charging systems. It transfers direct current (DC) power from a charging station to the vehicle’s battery, enabling highspeed charging. Compared to AC charging guns, DC charging guns deliver higher voltage and current, significantly shortening charging time. They are widely used in public fastcharging stations and commercial EV fleets.

Automated New Energy Wiring Harness Production Line
一. Materials and Construction
A DC charging gun must handle high voltage, high current, and outdoor exposure, so its materials are carefully selected for durability and safety:
1. Housing Material:
Typically made of flameretardant engineering plastics such as PC+ABS or glass fiber–reinforced PA66.
Excellent electrical insulation and heat resistance
UV and weather resistant, ideal for outdoor use
Strong impact resistance and anticracking properties
2. Conductive Contacts:
Made from highconductivity copper alloy or silverplated copper to reduce resistance and heat generation.
Surface plating (silver or nickel) enhances corrosion resistance and ensures stable conductivity.
3. Sealing and Insulation:
Equipped with silicone rubber seals and IP67 waterproof protection.
Internal insulation parts use PBT or PEEK, effectively isolating highvoltage components from the housing.
二. Key Features
1. HighSpeed Charging
DC charging guns can deliver up to 750V–1000V and 250A or more, providing rapid energy transfer for electric vehicles.
2. Excellent Safety
Builtin temperature monitoring, shortcircuit prevention, and antimisplug protection.
Equipped with a High Voltage Interlock (HVIL) system that automatically cuts power when disconnected.
3. Durability and Reliability
Performs well under extreme conditions from –30°C to +50°C.
Rugged design with dustproof and waterproof performance, suitable for outdoor use.
4. Ergonomic Design
Comfortable grip with lightweight construction.
Designed for easy plugging and unplugging with minimal user fatigue.
三. Main Applications
1. Public DC FastCharging Stations
Commonly used in city parking lots, highway service areas, EV taxi charging points, and public charging hubs, supporting multimodel fast charging.
2. Commercial and HeavyDuty Vehicles
Electric trucks, buses, and logistics vehicles use DC charging guns for quick turnaround and high operational efficiency.
3. Corporate and Fleet Charging Systems
Many companies install private DC chargers for their internal EV fleets, offering centralized management and fast charging capability.
4. Special Vehicles and Energy Storage Systems
Used in applications such as construction machinery, airport vehicles, and mobile energy storage units.
